What we do for Carers
Connect For Life runs regular events for Carers including information and learning events and social events both providing opportunities for peer support.
Often Carers ignore their own needs or don’t recognise that their stress levels are rising. Taking a break can seem an impossible task but maybe trying day support like Connect For Life for the person you care for will give you that opportunity for a bit of ‘me time’.
Our team of volunteers understand that it isn’t always easy to leave the person you love even for a few hours but we will care for them, offer them with a variety of activities and get to know their individual needs.
We suggest calling in to one of our sessions initially, meet the team and have a coffee with us before you decide if Connect For Life is right for you.
Maybe go shopping, meet a friend for coffee, put your feet up with a book or catch up on things you struggle to find time to do. Connect For Life is here to offer YOU respite.
What our carers say
Past Carers Events
Regular social events for Carers and Service Users
We often hold tea party or similar events where this gives the opportunity for our service users and their families to enjoy time together and meet others in similar situations.
Regular Information and Learning events
We have recently held sessions with Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors regarding 'Lasting Power of Attorney and Court of Protection'. This was an opportunity for carers to find out about this subject hearing from the experts and ask questions.
Our carers say about such events;
“that was really useful”
“I was able to ask a specific question and they gave me a full answer”
